Our Education Departments oversee the many Sunday school classes, elementary,
junior high and senior high school evening programs and more, as well as adult
studies, both short and long-term.

For children and youth, we have on-going Sunday evening activities designed to bring
the word of God to them through fun, exciting activities and lessons.

Music Director Susie Daugherty teaches the children
during one of our special children's programs. HACC
offers Vacation Bible School, musical retreats, mission
days and lots of other fun and educational activities.
CHURCH GROWTH
The Church Growth Committee is responsible for helping the congregation reach out
with the good news of Christ. They do this in various ways, including hosting
visitor/new member dinners periodically, Sunday morning greeters, mailings, visitor
packets and welcoming phone calls.
FELLOWSHIP COMMITTEE
Co-Chairs: Carolyn Buchan and Polly Bennett

Co-Chairs: Janet Briggs and Carol Southard
Our Fellowship Committee oversees many of our all church dinners and celebrations.
We have wonderful chefs here at Harvard Avenue and it's always a treat when we
hold one of our Pot Luck Suppers. The Fellowship Committee also helps facilitate the
snack suppers that occur during special Sunday evening short-term Bible studies.
INREACH COMMITTEE
FELLOWSHIP COMMITTEE
Chair: Susan Payne
The Inreach Committee is charged with the responsibility of caring for our
membership. Some of their efforts include the Telecare Ministry through which we
telephone every member household once every 3 months. This call is to provide
information, answer questions and to offer prayer. During the night of calling, Elders
and other prayer volunteers are in the prayer room lifting up our members.
LIBRARY COMMITTEE
Co-Chairs: Bill & Jo Ann Gilpin
We have a cozy Library here at HACC with many fine books of a spiritual, religious
or inspirational nature. The books may be checked out to members and guests
who are looking for information, guidance, or even as curriculum for small study
groups or Sunday school classes.
LIBRARY COMMITTEE
MEMORIALS
Chair: Kathryn Wheeler
Harvard Avenue Christian Church remembers those
who have proceeded us to eternal life. There are a
number of memorial funds and new memorials are
established as requested.

Some examples of memorials are: The stained glass
windows in the Sanctuary, the church organ, the
entrance raised flower bed and planter, the bronze
statue of a young girl in the flower bed, the cross in
the Sanctuary.
PERSONNEL COMMITTEE
Chairm: Kieth Phillips
We are fortunate to have a wonderful staff here at HACC. The Personnel Committee
works to offer them support as well as provide the most effective work environment
where they can work creatively and efficiently.
PROPERTY COMMITTEE
Co-Chairs: John Dismukes (inside) and Ray Briggs (outside)
We have been given a beautiful facility and grounds from which to serve. The
Property Committee works to maintain it and to continually improve it. Over the
past few years this committee has overseen: replacement of two of our three roofs,
remodeling restrooms to comply with handicapped requirements, and the
replacement of air conditioning in the Education Wing and Sanctuary.
WORLD OUTREACH COMMITTEE
Chair: Chris Payne
Harvard Avenue Christian Church has strong beliefs about our commitment to
bringing relief and care to a hurting world, as well as supporting educational and
mission opportunities for our own church. A large portion of the budget is
dedicated to the World Outreach program. A list of the programs supported can
be found on the Mission Page.
WORSHIP COMMITTEE
Traditional Chair: Christina Maxwell
Contemporary Co-Chairs: Sharon & Mike Bartlett
We have the great privilege of
being able to offer two very
different styles of worship. We
believe that whatever style of
worship is used it must be
faithful to the message of
Christ and relevant to the lives
of people. Each of our services
includes the elements of:
congregational singing,
communion, scripture,
message, offering and prayer.
