Dr. Don Farrior has been called to Harvard Avenue Christian Church
as Transitional Senior Minister, beginning November 2, 2008. Don
is a native of eastern North Carolina and graduated from Earlham
College in Richmond, Indiana. He has a Masters of Divinity degree from
Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis, Indiana. In 1976, he
earned his doctor's degree in Culture and Personality, also from
Christian Theological Seminary. He has been a Disciples of Christ
minister for over 46 years and has served as senior pastor at
churches in North Carolina, Indiana, Missouri, Florida, and Arizona.
Since moving from Arizona back to Missouri in 2006, Don has received specialized training
through the Interim Ministry Network to become a transitional pastor. His work is to fill the
normal role of an established pastor while helping the congregation move toward calling their
permanent pastor. Don and his wife, Janet, have been married for 49 years.

REBECCA HIGHFIELD
Associate Minister
Rebecca Highfield began her tenure as Associate Minister
in November of 2005. She has completed the process of
finishing her Masters of Divinity studies at Phillips
Theological Seminary and was ordained in the spring of
2007. She is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin
with a degree in film criticism. Her interests include
engaging people in hands-on activities like mission/work
camps and in pastoral care. She also has a large role in
leading corporate worship experiences here at HACC.
Rebecca is married to Mark Highfield who is employed by
Tulsa Public Schools. Mark and Rebecca have a little girl,
Elena.
Betsey coordinates our building usage, edits the Welcome
Mat (weekly newsletter), manages the Website, manages the
office, and supervises the production of the weekly worship
programs, as well as develops many art projects for the
church. She attended the University of Tulsa, majoring in Art.
She is married to John who is a commercial artist and they
have three sons. They have been members of Faith United
Methodist Church for 26 years but Betsey considers HACC
her church family, too. Betsey works full time and is in the
office Monday through Thursday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and
Fridays until 1:00 pm
BETSEY OWEN
Administrative Director
Benny Chastain is our new Finance Manager. Benny is retired from
30 years of teaching accounting at Phillips University and from
working in the business office for Phillips Theological Seminary
and for the PTS Board. He attended North Texas State University and
the University of Oklahoma. His wife, Julia, was also retired from
PTS but since the PTS president, Bill Tabbernee coerced her into
resuming some of her duties, Benny decided to take on a part time
position and we are happy that he landed here at HACC.
Benny and Julia love traveling and recently celebrated their 50th
wedding anniversary by taking an Alaskan cruise. They have two
children, Vicki David (Dan) of Bailey, CO, and Michael (Janet) of
Overland Park, KS., and two grandchildren, Chris David and Moria
Chastain. Benny will be in the office from noon to 5:00 pm,
Monday-Thursday.
BENNY CHASTAIN
Financial Manager
Darlene, who is a member of HACC, stepped
forward to head up the children's ministries
during a transitional time and the Personnel
Committee decided to ask her to continue her
good work on a permanent basis. Darlene was
employed by Tulsa Public Schools and one of her
duties there was teaching parenting classes.
She brings invaluable skills and talents to this
position and is initiating some innovative
improvements in the children's area. She is
married to David and has two girls, Amelia and
Zoey. We are very happy to welcome Darlene to
our ministry team. Darlene's office hours will be
flexible, but you will usually be able to find her in
Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
and on Sunday mornings.

Children's Ministries Director
Colt is very excited about this position and feels
that the Lord has some big plans in store for our
youth group in the near future. He has lots of ideas
and activities in the planning and would love to
hear any ideas or suggestions that anyone has
(including you Mom and Dad).
He graduated from Northeastern State University
where He met and fell in love with the young lady
that God created especially for him. Colt and Jess
got married on May 17, 2005 and she is a
kindergarten teacher at Metro Christian Academy.

Youth Ministries Director
Angela Kern is our new office assistant and will be responsible
for printing the newsletter, the bulletins, running errands for
supplies, and other office tasks as needed. She comes with a lot
of computer experience and a willing heart and we are delighted
to have her. Angela is married to Joseph Kern and has two sons,
Devin and C. J. Her office hours are Wednesday & Thursday, 8:00
am-1:00 pm
Angela will also continue her duties as children's assistant on
Wednesday evenings.

Libby assists in the Music Department, not only helping with
children's and youth choirs and organizing and filing music, but
also as an accomplished soloist on Sunday mornings and
during special musical events.




Contemporary Worship Director:
Kent Carver
Kent Carver began leading the Praise & Worship Band as a
volunteer five years ago, and now continues his leadership as a
valued staff member. Kent leads the music each Sunday
morning, playing the guitar and singing. Kent also is quite
skilled at playing the drums.

Music Director: Susie Monger-Daugherty
Accomplished musician Susie Daugherty is our Music
Director here at Harvard Avenue Christian Church. She
is also the organist for our Traditional Worship
Service and leads the children's choir and the youth
performance ensemble. She is married to Rex
Daugherty and has two children, P.J. and Ted. Susie is
also very active in Tulsa community theatrical and
musical enterprises.

If you see this hippie looking fellow hanging around with the youth do
not take alarm. Isaac is the youth intern. Colt has worked with Isaac for
several years going back to Camp Loughridge days and we are very
excited about having him here at HACC. Isaac is a guitar performance
major at ORU and will be a senior in the fall. He is obsessed with Jesus,
music and Frisbee and is looking forward to working with the youth
